What this is based on

Every output names at least one verified PubMed source.

de Vries S, Hermans CML, Langers F. Effects of indoor plants on office workers: a field study in multiple Dutch organizations. Front Psychol. 2023;14:1196106.
PMID 37457080 (verification gap: A non-randomised field study with mixed results, so the practical size of the benefit is uncertain.)
Field study in several Dutch organizations measuring office-workers' satisfaction and well-being before and after indoor plants were added to their workspaces. · weight 0.5 · Adding plants improved how workers rated the appearance of their workspace, their satisfaction with it, how dry the air felt, and health-related complaints. Effects on stress, positive and negative affect, ability to concentrate, work pleasure, need for recovery and mental health were not statistically significant.
Han KT, Ruan LW, Liao LS. Effects of indoor plants on human functions: a systematic review with meta-analyses. Int J Environ Res Public Health. 2022;19(12):7454.
PMID 35742700 (verification gap: Several pooled analyses rested on two or three records, exposure durations were short, and the review covers objective measures rather than clinical outcomes.)
Systematic review with meta-analyses of 42 records of quantitative Chinese and English studies testing indoor plants as an intervention against no plants or other elements, on physiological, cognitive, health-related and behavioural outcomes. · weight 1.0 · The review concluded that indoor plants affect human functions positively, particularly relaxed physiology and improved cognition. The meta-analyses found lower diastolic blood pressure with plants present and better academic achievement, while effects on EEG alpha activity and attention were not statistically significant.

Limits: This logs your own ratings. It is not a mood or stress scale, and the field-study results it references were mixed: significant for workspace ratings, dryness and complaints, not significant for stress or concentration.
